Christian Pho Duc is Chief Technology Officer at Smartenergy Group AG, where he leads the company’s technology, policy, and public funding activities supporting the development of utility-scale renewable energy and Power-to-X (PtX) projects. He has also played an active role in shaping Europe’s clean energy agenda through Solar Power Europe, serving as a member of the Board of Directors and as Chair and Vice Chair of its Hydrogen and Electrification workstreams.

A physicist and engineer educated at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and the University of Cambridge, Christian brings over 30 years of international leadership experience across semiconductors, electric mobility, renewable energy, and PtX. As a recognized industry expert and frequent conference speaker, he is committed to advancing the technologies and collaboration needed to accelerate the global energy transition.
