Dr. Max Voß is a Strategic Development professional at RWE Generation SE, based in Essen, Germany. He currently leads the Decarbonisation Intelligence Team, where he is responsible for Technology Foresight and Technology Scouting, identifying emerging innovations and strategic opportunities to support the energy transition.

RWE Generation SE operates a portfolio of flexible power generation assets and is pursuing significant growth in energy storage and green hydrogen production. As part of RWE’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2040, Dr. Voß contributes to shaping a decarbonized and future-ready power generation portfolio.

With almost 20 years of experience across various functions within the RWE Group, Dr. Voß has developed extensive expertise in technology scouting, innovation management, and strategic business development. He was also actively involved in the early stages of the Desertec Industrial Initiative (Dii), representing RWE during its formative years beginning in 2010.

Prior to joining RWE, Dr. Voß worked as a geophysicist in the airborne survey industry and conducted research as a polar and marine scientist, bringing a strong scientific foundation to his work in technology and innovation.
