Video: Dii Desert Energy Leadership Summit – Day Two Opening

We are honoured that the 15th Dii Desert Energy Leadership Summit took place under the Official Patronage of the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) – a continuation of our long-standing collaboration, reinforced earlier this year with the joint press release for the launch of the MENA Outlook Report 2025.

We opened Day Two with a Fireside Chat with H.E. Eng. Sharif Salim Al-Olama, Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs, MoEI, who reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to working closely with the private sector to accelerate innovative energy transition projects.

Key insights from the discussion:

✅ MoEI invites companies and countries to join the Global Energy Efficiency Alliance (GEEA) platform
✅ Data centres and AI are emerging as major off-takers, driving unprecedented energy demand
✅ Cross-border electrical interconnections will leverage the UAE’s strategic geographic position
✅ A decade of leadership in renewables shapes the UAE’s priorities and ambitions
✅ Where will the UAE stand for hydrogen in a few years, taking into account UAE’s position as was one of the first countries in the region to present a hydrogen national strategy in November 2023.

We were honoured that H.E. attended the launch of our new study:
📘 “Unlocking The Hydrogen Economy: How Common User Infrastructure Drives Project Bankability” in partnership with Addleshaw Goddard and ILF Consulting Engineers.

A multilateral meeting with CEOs followed to discuss priorities such as SAF supply and technology innovation, including water, with representatives from: thyssenkrupp Uhde, thyssenkrupp Decarbon Technologies, Zhero, Hyundai Motor Company, H2 Global Group, Siemens, ITM Power, Fraunhofer IIS, Linde, Hydrogen Council, Gulf Cryo, Uniper and others.

We are deeply grateful to His Excellency for his trust and support – and we look forward to continuing this strong collaboration.
